Slats spotted at King Cobra 79 days ago
Kickin it in the green room, of course
Capitol Hill regular.
This actually wasn’t today, but I’ve lived in Montlake for the past six years and I always see Slats riding the 43 from the Hill to Montlake. He usually catches it in front of Twice Sold Tales. Generally he’s with a good-looking girl who I think heard say she’s half Asian/half Nordic (I forget which countries exactly). Sometimes they are arguing, sometimes sleeping on each other. For some reason I’m under the impression his lives with his mom.
Cancer Rising, Local Hip Hop Group, was having their CD Release party… and Slats was there!!! We were all very honored…
well, slats wandered into the metropolitan and since we’ve never had the opportunity to personally enjoy his company, i went up to him and engaged him in some really meaningful conversation. then i asked if i could take a picture with him, and he said not if it’s for your blog.
bands played. slats was there. it was pretty uneventful really, but this page needed an update.
We were in the back of the bar playing shuffleboard and in he walked. A drink was purchased for him immediately. He hung out for maybe an hour and then he was gone just as quick as he came.
Slat was there for over 15 min. What was happening? We can only guess :)
I saw Slats at the QFC. The worker asked him to hold up the glass hinged display door on a display case while she put some new food in the display case. She said, “please don’t let the door fall on my head.” Slat said I wouldn’t do that.
I saw Slats at Linda’s later that night. I introduced myself, and he was rather nice. He asked me if there were any good parties or shows that I knew about. He was entertaining a friend from out of town, and wanted to show her a good time. I will have my photo with Slats next time, now that I know about this website.
Slats was sitting next to us with no less than three drinks for him to enjoy- an empty shot glass in front of him, a mix drink in the left, and a beer in his right. He was literally double-fisting it. Glorious. He stumbled out roughly an hour later.
I was walking down the steps into our practice space only to find a person in a large hat sitting at the bottom of the steps. Could it possibly be Izzy Stradlin circa 1988? No it was just Slats fixing a guitar with a lit cigarette sitting on the stairs next to him. I see him here all the time so he’s got a band. Any ideas on the names?
I have a friend visiting from out of town and we’re having a nice, quiet meal when BAM! Slats walks by. I giddily pointed him out to her but he had already passed by the window. Good thing he walked by FOUR MORE TIMES throughout the course of dinner. We all got plenty of good looks.
Slats arrived at the Cha Cha late last night. I greeted him and asked him if he was mad about the Notables party incident, and he said no. Then he pointed to Buster McLeod and said, “There’s ol’ Toilet Breath,” revealing that he had read this article. Hilarious! He asked Toilet Breath to buy him a shot, shoved his tongue into one of my girlfriend’s mouths, turned to me and said, “I’m gonna make out with you next, Lele!” And, well, at that point I had to run away.
I have no idea who this Slats guy is. I just know him from this blog and a few other websites I found with photos – but he is unmistakable, that’s for sure. I almost ran over him yesterday on Boylston Ave at about 5pm, a couple blocks west of the old QFC. He ambled out in front of my car wearing a Ramones jacket, looking as scrawny as a post. I had to hit the brakes to avoid smashing him – he didn’t seem to notice.
He stepped out onto the sidewalk holding a couple of bags after shopping at Panache. Started walking south, but then quickly turned around and headed north instead.
Oh my god! My friend and I have been seeing this guy around Seattle forever and we’ve named him “Jesse” just because we didn’t know any better. Now we know. Slats. Wow.
Just being drunk at last call and Slats was sitting by the ATM machine watching my buddies dance. We didn’t notice Slats was there until the next day when we looked at the pictures
I was waiting in line at the Metro to get my drink and Slats stumbled in and stood next to me shuffling back in forth for about ten minutes while people ahead of us were ordering. Of course when it was my turn he shuffled right ahead of me and cut in line! I wasn’t about to fight him about it because he could hardly stand up.
Slats was cruisin’ with his peeps. Buster, Lele & Holiday McLeod were in the car coming back from a miniature roadtrip during which we had discussed Slats several times due to the Notables party this Friday. We knew it was an omen when we returned and saw Slats. Everything is gonna be gooooood.
