Ben Gibbard spotted at At the Black Cat in Washington DC 345 days ago

I took the train down from DC in the hopes of scamming my way into the very very sold out Dismemberment Plan show (they broke up a couple of years ago, but decided to do two benefit shows for Cal Robbins. After making friends with some locals plus two guys that flew in from london I found myself lucking into a ticket and waiting in the very front of the line. A bit later, who should walk in, but Ben Gibbard! I guess he’s friends with the band now since they toured together on the Death & Dismemberment tour in 2002.

The pic sucks, but that’s Ben playing drums with Joe while we’re all on stage dancing to Ice of Boston.

He was sitting in the large corner booth having brunch with a group of friends (including Eli from the Crocodile). After eating, they all congregated outside on the sidewalk before going their separate ways.
